The Vision
Standard hockey cages have barely changed in decades. A dense grid of steel bars sits in front of your face, blocking a significant portion of your sightlines — exactly where you need to track a puck moving at high speed.
Sage Cage was designed from scratch with one goal: maximize what the player can see, while maintaining meaningful protection from the puck. The result is a radically open cage geometry that puts far less steel between your eyes and the ice.
Designed for recreational and beer league players who want to perform at their best without sacrificing the protection a cage provides over a visor.
Who It's For
You love the game but you're not playing in a sanctioned league with strict equipment rules. You want to see the ice better and play your best. Sage Cage was designed with you in mind.
Pond hockey, pickup games, open skates — anywhere the emphasis is on fun and the game itself. Get the protection of a cage with visibility you didn't think was possible.
You've been wearing a visor for the visibility but wishing you had more protection. Sage Cage may be exactly the middle ground you've been looking for.
If you're in the hockey equipment industry and see the potential here, we'd love to talk. The design is early stage and the right partnership could take it much further.
Sage Cage is currently in early prototype stage. This site is intended to share the concept, gather feedback, and connect with interested players and potential partners. The cage is not yet available for purchase. If you're interested in being among the first to know when that changes — or if you'd like to share your thoughts — please reach out below.
